For various reasons my photo blog hasn’t seen much activity lately. At times events, twists and turns sends your life into other directions than the ones you expect. Some for the better, others not. What has brightened my life considerably was the birth of my two grandsons Odin and Thor last summer. Watching these little rascals processing life and all its wonders gives me such joy. Needless to say the memory cards glow hot when I’m around them. Here’s just a few snaps taken by a very proud grandfather.
For those of you who read Norwegian Charlotte has a very good blog where she writes about being a parent of twins:
It’s been a long time since added anything to the photoblog. Work and and study has a way of eating up time, and there’s always the ebb and flow of creativity to take into account. I hope I can bring myself to cross the doorstep more willingly in the days ahead.
Anyway… I did manage to drag my sorry behind over the sea and visit Manchester again. My first trip in many years. Used to be a place called Maine Road there last time I was over.
With a day to spare I took my camera and hit the streets. The city is really different now from what I remembered. Lots of new fancy shopping malls and chic cafes. The old Manchester is still there, but “newness” of it really hit me.
I had made a post on the Bluemoon forum ahead of the trip and had got many good suggestions about places to see and shoot. But in the end I just walked around more or less randomly and shot pictures of the people I saw in the streets. Architecture and scenery will have to wait for another visit.
The Mancunians are a friendly people. Whenever I had to do a pi(n)t stop talk always came easily. And although the accent can be a bit of a challenge at times, the melody of it always puts a smile on my face.
And they certainly do dress well…
And this city is all about music. I have no idea who these youngsters are, but they looked ready to conquer the world as they passed me on that cold spring day in April.
But in the end, it’s thisthat really matters. New season coming up and the city will be painted blue again. I just know it will be so 🙂
